This Weekend: ‘Mixed Nuts,’ Polar Bear Plunge, and Artisans Gift Show

The holiday festivities are in full swing with Santa likely showing up in your hamlet sometime over the weekend and plenty of places to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list, such as the annual Artisans Gift Show in Springs. In between all of that, catch a “Mixed Nuts” performance at Bay Street or take a dip in the ocean during the Polar Bear Plunge at Cooper’s Beach in Southampton Village to raise money for Heart of the Hamptons, an organization which assists more than 1,500 people in the community each year.

Friday, December 13 

UGLY SWEATER FUN: With cookie decorating, crafts, and games for teens, Rogers Memorial Library, Southampton, 4 p.m.

“Mixed Nuts” DANCE PERFOR­MANCE: A classic holiday tale with a twist, blending “The Nutcracker” with “Alice in Wonderland,” by students of Studio 3 in Bridgehampton, $30 cash only at the door, Bay Street Theater, Sag Harbor, 7 p.m. Also Dec. 14, 7 p.m., and Dec. 15, 1 p.m.

MOVIE NIGHT: With snacks, for families with children 4 and up, Amagansett Library, 6-7 p.m.

SANTA VISIT: The hamlet’s Fire Department will provide for St. Nick’s “sleigh ride,” and a host of family activities, including ornament making, cookie decorating, and games, are in store, the Amagansett Square, noon-3 p.m.
